Tomorrows Outlook free you of fears with Silver Ghost single

I think we all have to fight with fears in one or another way at times. It's not a nice feeling that can be felt rising up in your mind and sometimes taking control. Happily music has proven to be a effective way of treatment.

It helps a lot to have music by your side. It can take the bad effects away and let you move further. These thoughts came once more to my mind as I listened to the newest output by Tomorrow's Outlook. The combination of the solid riffs all along with the punching groove section set's a good basic at the start of the song.

The new album tells stories based at the surrounding of the Gressholman peninsula.

The story starts as the singer unfolds the story step by step through each verse and the refrain. It let's you follow the message as if it was a book. With every line and every minute the whole thing unfolds and through it's way the fear is revealed but also dissolved.

"Silver Ghost" comes with lyrics that have a deeper meaning in them as the band explains:

In the year 1905, Hanna was a hard-working northern Norwegian woman whose husband had tragically just passed away. She took on his duties as lightkeeper at Steglholmen near Gressholman, the old trade centre in Vågsfjorden south of Harstad. For more than 20 years she dutifully kept the light shining, guiding the ships safely past her post and on their way. The light was often exposed to the harshest of weather, but the job was an important one for more than one reason – the homestead they had bought when her beloved husband was still alive must be paid for, so the money was needed.

The work was challenging, both physically and mentally. Crossing the dark, stormy sea in a small rowboat, that’s one thing. Another was the ever-present knowledge that once upon a time, this was the place of execution for three murderers whose remains were mounted on stakes and left there until time and nature had done away with them. As the black waves beat her boat and the wind howled at her light, she often glimpsed their horrific spectres beneath the foamy sea. But Hanna remained a brave and dutiful human, and she stood ever firm in the face of these trials.

It's a first teaser to the upcoming album "Black Waves" that will be released early in 2024 on the band's own record label Sörvik Rock Music. Black Waves is a concept album based on real events from the coastal region surrounding the Gressholman peninsula, stretching from 1748 to the early 1900s. We hear the deeply shocking story of a brutal double murder which shook a small community, and also about a once vital and important trading post which met its ultimate end in a fire centuries later. The stories are mostly told through the eyes of the people involved, whose stories are guided by the superstitions, fears, and beliefs native to the northern part of Norway.

Keep a eye on the band's website as the release day comes closer and closer.

Reason Define sort sound with deviding sections

Some bands have this something in their sound. It feels to me as if a song is sorted into sections through a devider that works as a bridge. That's something fine in my ears. It's like you can clearly spot that one part already finished and which part is going to be played as next  Looks like this all-female Charlotte/North Carolina based 5 piece had something similar in mind when they put together a new video single.

Reason Define have a package of great riffs for you. The band photo was taken by Obscvre Photography.

Reason Define did this in a special way for me. The track "Pointing Fingers" has many sections in that are build up the way I described in the column before. Besides that the music is power filled and breathes the fire of blazing riffs in them. The drums are straight and pushing but always clear to follow. In addition a nice story has been build into the music video but just see for yourselves...

Make sure to check the website and socials since this is only one song of the new package "In Memory" that has been released in March 2019 already.

Liv Kristine appears in Lego story lyric video

Liv Kristine along with Theater Of Tragedy is responsible for being a inspiration to a wave of Gothic Metal bands out there. These days she recorded a duet with Ben Blutzukker whose great dark metal EP "Riptide" found my attention some time ago.

Ben Blutzukker feat. Liv Kristine as Lego minifigures in the video for "Queen of the Nite"

"Queen of the Nite" is such a fun to listen to. It's going in easy and the refrain already sets fire in your heart with the first listening round. The lyrics are typical for such a output but always held with a smiling sidelook.

I already loved the lego figures that were present in the last video. This time they are back and the even more great thing is that they tell a story this time around. A lot of time must have gone into the creation of this little movie alone.

Make sure to place your pre-order of the single on Bandcamp as a digital download or along with much more bonus content on a USB Lego figure. Release date is on 13.02.2019.

More places for streaming and download are available with this overlook page.

Keep a eye on what Ben Blutzukker is going to do next with a like on Facebook.

Scarleth ask the sense of mind manipulation in new virtual reality video

Scarleth have premiered a great video about changing and altering your memories by replacing them with virtual reality. The great thing besides the blasting refrain that perfectly brings the message up to the point is the fact that the whole video comes packed in a style that looks like a video game / virtual reality itself and tells the story step by step to the viewer.

The lyrics are placed cleverly into the video as sort of advert messages or messages that are shown from a computer system. A excellent piece of video, I've not seen such a great mixture of story based video along with the lyrics. Don't hesitate and have a look for yourselves:

The track appears on their newest album called "The Silver Lining" and has been released in July 2015 by their label The Leaders. The band's webshop lists several ways how you can purchase the record.

Scarleth is a remarkable and experienced Ukrainian metal band playing music on joint of modern heaviness and diverse melodism. For the time being the band has played several hundreds of live shows, released two full-length albums worldwide and took part in festivals where Sergey Mavrin, Cherniy Obelisk, Dark Lunacy and other famous bands performed. The band’s style is expanding constantly and represents mind-blowing mixture of many melodic genres - from power, folk, doom and gothic metal to modern/progressive metal.

Surroundings show the importance of family in storybased video

Surroundings came first to my attention when they released a strong video for the track "Elizabeth" which talked about love and if it is able to recover it once it is lost.

Now the band has spread a new single entitled "Jane". This time around the video is completly storybased. You cannot spot the band playing the track but instead you'll be confronted with pure emotions packed in intensive pictures, filmed with modern style yet these remain authentic.

Speaking about the meaning the band points out on Facebook: "(...) The song is about the importance of family and what it means to have a strong role-model. The video was directed by our guitarist Drew Kendell, and reflects his love of true storytelling. Jane was produced and mixed by our bassist Matthew Templeman.(...)"

As for me this is one of the most intense videos I've seen in a long time now. The strong message and story behind it is outworked very well in the pictures. The song fits perfectly to the visuals and make's them even more special with it's various moods and changes. Videos like this prove that moving pictures can have a superb power to express what's on your mind.

If you'd like to have a copy of the song you can purchase the single at Bandcamp and iTunes.

The band has social sites up and running if you'd like to get in touch with them. Just make sure to see their Facebook page or follow them via Instagram.
