Mob Rules annouce festival to celebrate 20th band anniversary

Great News for all the fans of MOB RULES, the band will do a very,very special event (their first own festival) to celebrate their 20th anniversary. Just check out the details and flyer below and spread the word on this, the band very-well deserves some support!

The following statement taken from their post on Facebook today:

"Mob Rules will celebrate their 20th anniversary on October, 25th 2014 at Pumpwerk Wilhelmshaven with their own festival, coming with an awesome lineup!

As headliner, Mob Rules were able to confirm the world-famous Power Metal band GAMMA RAY, who just released their new album „Empire Of The Undead“. Mob Rules themselves will play a very special anniversary show with some exciting surprises. The third act are LOVE.MIGHT.KILL and another band will be announced during the next weeks!

Preorder for this festival starts in two weeks! Matthias Mineur states: „Again, we will have a great present for people buying their tickets first: Beneath the regular ones, a limited premium ticket will be available, which comes with an exclusive shirt! As usual: Who comes first, serves first.“

If you don't know the band yet you can watch the newest video of them below. It's a lyric video for the song "Scream for the sun", taken from the latest album "Cannibal Nation".

There you can listen to two full new songs entitled "Hellbent" and "I will return". UPDATE 2014/03/27: Just found out that the label of the band earMusic has already set up a youtube playlist for this album. Up till now it has two more new songs on it called "Avalon" and "Built a world (European bonus track). If you do subscribe to this playlist you can stream the full album on March 28th including Interviews and Track by Track commentary.

Metal Hammer unfolds upcoming Mob Rules album

The german section of Metal Hammer megazine presents each day one song from upcoming Mob Rules album, that is set for release on 2012/10/19. You can find the main-site here. Just click on one of the headlines under the main article and it will lead you to one of the new songs. The title of each track is included in the headline.

But there is already more stuff up there for you to check out, so I decided to seize the possibility and give you a round-up here on what has been released so far. First of the record company gives away the title-track of the album "Cannibal Nation" as free download!  Just follow this link ,register and enter the code "MG52K2V". Following the fine tradition of putting out a single the band has picked the song "Ice & Fire" this time and also filmed a video to promote the song. Watch it below.

Info and Cover for upcoming Mob Rules album revealed

German powermetal band Mob Rules, that did recently put out the great album "Radical peace" out in 2009 have now revealed the first details on their upcoming album "Cannibal Nation". The new silver disc will see the light of day on October 19th 2012 and contain the following tracklist:

The band has released some short info on the musical direction of each song along with the cover of the album on their website. The info says that that ´Ice & Fire` will be the first single of the album.

Keeping up the fine tradition of setting up a release show for the album the band will continue to do so with "Cannibal Nation" on October 20th  in their hometown Wilhelmshaven, Germany at the Pumpwerk. Tickets have gone on sale by now also online at this location. You can choose between a standard ticket for 16,40 Euro or add some bucks and get a exclusive T-Shirt with the ticket (this ticket will cost 19,70 Euro).
As the info for the release party further reveals that the band will use this event to film material for the upcoming videoclip of the first single. So being there sound like a good idea. :-)

Drone / Metal 4 Splash Festival

Now that the year is moving forward with nearly reaching mid-February by now it's time for a lot of people to think which festival they would like to attend this year. Festivals are often a fine happening with a lot of people coming together from different countries but all for the same reason: they do love to listen to Heavy Metal music.

The bigger festivals named Wacken Open Air, Bang your Head or the With full force are well known but as for Wacken, it's already sold out. Additionally most of them aren't that cheap,too.

So here's a alternative: the Metal 4 Splash Festival, located at Rotenburg/Wümme in northern germany. Here are some details:

Date:19.-21.7.2012

Name and place: Metal4Splash Festival in Rotenburg/Wümme, Germany.

Bands confirmed so far: Sodom, Drone, Mob Rules & Criminal. More bands to be confirmed.

Tickets have gone already on sale and are priced 27,50 Euro including parking, camping, entrance fee for the warm-up show and fee for the festival itself. The first 100 orders come with a free "Old-School”-T-Shirt from the Metal4Splash festival or a CD since it's the fifth anniversary of the festival this year.

As I did before in the past I'm introducing one of the confirmed bands now. This time the pick goes on Drone, a brutal newcomer metal band including most of the modern elements of Bands like Bullet for my Valentine mixed with traditional band sounds from band's like Testament, Mastodon, or Pantera. The songs go straight forward and sound like a perfect fit to make a good show at the Metal 4 Splash Festival. Just check the video below and you'll surely know what I mean.

U.D.O. / AFM Metal Festival

After the band 'Symphorce' (see my very first post here on the blog titled 'Today is day one') called it quits (I am very sad about this,they had such great songs but too few people knew them I am afraid) I feel more than ever the urge to support Heavy Metal underground bands.

Besides the Metalshock festival there's another underground festival coming up this year. It's the AFM Festival,celebrating the 15 years anniversary of the AFM Records Company. There will be 15 bands playing all day long at Markthalle Hamburg, Germany on 26th of November 2011. Bands performing will be Crystal Viper,Mob Rules and U.D.O. and many,many more. U.D.O. may already be known by some of you since they do feature ex-Accept members Udo Dirkschneider on vocals and Stefan Kaufmann on guitars. The band constantly puts out classic solid metal albums in the good tradition of the style of the 80's but always adding some fresh elements of today like modern production or hacked riffing. Most of all they do create great metal hymms to sing along to. But check out for yourselfs.

Gun Barrel / Metalshock Festival

This time a combined update about a underground metal festival plus introduction of one of the bands of the billing of that event.
The Metalshock festival is organised by some real metal underground fans aiming at supporting small bands and help bringing back some of the forgotten heroes of past times. The festival will take place on 29th of October 2011 in Hannover, Germany at the Musikzentrum. Some of the bands that will show up are Mob Rules and Scanner which I already talked about ealier here on the blog. Due to financial issues 150 tickets need to be sold till 15th of October to make this event to be able to be properly done. One of the bands playing there are Gun Barrel,a legendary band doing some dirty,heavy hitting and direct Rock 'n Roll. I got to see them first on a very cold winter day also on a underground metal fest,the Winter Metal Meeting in Leer,Germany 2010. The lay it down heavy and that's what got my attention. Check out there song Brother to Brother and maybe you'll like 'em,too.

Mob Rules

It's weekend and I wanna take the chance to quickly let you know
about Mob Rules, a small band from Northern germany.

The main feature in their sound is the ability to put in some
atmosphere into the songs. It's mostly power metal they do for
sure, but it's intense and still there is always a room for
feelings and emotions. They work out the songs detailed and
besides that they are very sympathic human beings (meet them
every here and there on some of the shows they did.
